Pateshi Fighting Blade

The Pa'teshi Fighting Blade, properly called a Shekishi, has been one of the more distinct weapons in the kingdom's arsenal up to, and even following, the disastrous war with the Imperia. The curved blade is the business end of the weapon, being used in a slashing motion, often as part of fast, full-body, spinning. The additional, straight blade is designed to deliver a downward, punching thrust to finish off an opponent. Despite being a one-handed weapon, traditional Shekishi users keep their off-hand free to grab, block and contort the opponent's clothing. In keeping with the Pa'teshi analogy between fighting and dancing, this open hand is called the 'partner' because of how it guides the enemy.
